Episode #177 – Ottawa Is Sinking, Karlsson Don’t Wanna Swim

Episode177

One more week to enter our Brock Boeser jersey contest!

On the eve of the NHL Trade Deadline, Rick Nash is a Boston Bruin, Derick Brassard heads to greener Penguin pastures and they continue to debate the trade value of Thomas Vanek.

On the show this week, they discuss Rick Nash becoming a Boston Bruin, the rather high price they paid for an aging forward who’s best years are possibly behind him. What does this mean for Boston and for Jarome Iginla, who was practicing with the Providence Bruins recently?

They also discuss the Canucks’ deadline day, Jacob Markstrom’s ups and downs and an alternate universe where next season, Thatcher Demko would backup Roberto Luongo.

They look at Derick Brassard’s impressive playoff point production, what his addition means for the Penguins’ desires to three-peat and what it will take to take on the arms race rumours involving the Tampa Bay Lighting and Erik Karlsson.

Finally, they touch on the Olympics. The exciting NHL-free tournament and one hell of a gold medal game between Canada and the USA womens teams.

Enjoy!

Listen to this week’s 5 Minutes for Paying for our $5+ Patreon backers. They answer Twitter questions, discuss their reservations with Erik Gudbranson and talk Olympics some more.
