Episode #235 – Hot Starts & Dead Horses

Ryan and P Mac gather for a Thanksgiving matinee podcast this week to discuss the Vancouver Canucks’ success during their first homestand of the season. After a couple line juggles, the team is scoring goals and looking good as they shake off their sluggish Alberta road trip.

They touch on their thoughts on the new alternate Canucks jerseys and the outcry by fans on the polarizing uniform as well as the grassroots movement to bring back ‘Holiday’ as the Canucks’ goal song. They also discuss real news, like Jacob Markstrom leaving the team to tend to a personal matter and Thatcher Demko getting his first start of the season Tuesday.

They also discuss James Neal’s incredibly hot start to this young season. The Oilers’ are definitely playing some Dave Tippett hockey in their 5-0 start of the season. The only difference this year is, Dave Tippett never had two dynamic forwards like McDavid and Draisaitl on his teams in the past.

They discuss the San Jose Sharks’ signing Patrick Marleau, shaking off their 0-4 start and spend another segment this week marvelling over how good the Colorado Avalanche look so far.
