Episode #228 – Maybe A Little Nervous?

The Stanley Cup Final goes to St. Louis for the first time in 49 years, and the outcome remains the same as the Blues are yet to win a Stanley Cup Final game on home ice.

P Mac and Ryan meet at his West End studio apartment this week to discuss the extreme rough and hard-hitting cup final. St. Louis has been giving the Bruins a taste of their own medicine, but the Blues lost their way in game 3.

Dave Skypes-in from Ottawa while pan searing salmon, and he gives his thoughts on Jordan Binnington’s less-than-stellar showing so far in the Final. He compares him to some flashes in the pan of years past and asks if he will be one in the same. Dave also gives his thoughts on the Vancouver Canucks signing Erik Karlsson in the offseason.

Ryan and P Mac give their thoughts on which UFA’s the Canucks will sign this summer. The likely and predictable defensemen in Jake Gardiner and Tyler Myers, while P Mac gives his thoughts on a couple more affordable options.

They also chat about Patrick Marleau and the Toronto Maple Leafs who appear to be parting ways. The Leafs’ need to trade Nikita Zaitsev out of town and if they can still land a couple free agents this summer while hopefully signing Mitch Marner long term.

Ryan and P Mac also name potential captains for the captain-less teams in the NHL, answer some great listener questions, and get distracted by a large swarm of bees at a San Diego Padres game!
